Editor's Notes
Another year has come and gone, and here we are, at the start of 2009, assessing where we've been
and thinking about where we hope to go.
Personally, I enjoy spending time on New Year's Day each year to review last year's goals. Did I achieve some of them and
not others? Did my priorities, hopes and dreams change as the year progressed? What didn't I accomplish and why? And how important
are my accomplishments in the larger view of life?
This end-of-year assessment process is also true for The Writer's Eye Magazine. Begun on an inspired whim at the end of the
year in 2007, we're assessing where we have been, where we are now, and where we want to go in the future. As online magazines
go, The Writer's Eye is small and relatively unknown. Our first year has been successful, in terms of consistently providing
quality articles, stories, and artwork to our readers, as well as providing a venue for many multi-talented artist/writers.
Having built a strong foundation, we're ready to grow.
Our goals for 2009 include the following:
• Grow readership to 10,000 visitors per month
• Begin a subscription program that provides special value for loyal readers
• Expand The Writer's Eye Store with original works of art, books, and other unique products.
With your help, we can achieve these goals. Spread the word —tell your friends and relatives about The Writer's Eye
Magazine. Forward our newsletters. Write us. Let us know what you think of some of the stories, issues, and products offered.
We love to hear from our authors and readers and are always open to new ideas.
I look forward to 2009 and to hearing from all of you.
