Editor's Notes
Early spring in Northern California brings with it a smattering of everything—rain, flowers, sunshine and overcast skies,
alternating warmth and cold—leaving us to wonder whether we should continue our hibernation by the fire or get out there
and mow the lawn. It’s a lot like waking up slowly on a weekend morning, moving in and out of dozy dreaming to awakening
consciousness.
And so it is with this issue of The Writer’s Eye Magazine—offering a little of everything, from advice for
the writer seeking quiet and isolation (Perfect Seclusion by William Kaliher) and stories about The Hazards of
Gardening (Nancy Aldersmith) to poetry with titles such as “Frostbitten” and “Squall.”
We don’t set prepublication themes, in part because we like to see what develops organically from the many submissions
we receive and, in part, to allow me more editorial flexibility.
I hope you enjoy the diverse writing and art this issue brings. I know I do.
Oh! And don't forget to check out our new, 2008 Spring Contest!
